Documents & Communications

The College will communicate with you in a number of ways throughout your time at LMH, so it is important that you familiarise yourself with the following:

  • Your Oxford University email address will be used will be used for important communications from the College and your department - make sure you know how to access this and check it regularly
  • The College Intranet provides access to useful information and many of LMH's services including checking your battels account and making room booking requests - you can access the Intranet directly from links on the main College website (you will need your SSO to sign in)
  • Information and advertisements are displayed on the digital screens in the Lodge and Deneke foyers, and on noticeboards along Hell's Passage in Deneke
  • All students will have a pigeonhole in the Porters' Lodge for incoming mail, and we operate a secure parcel system for large or recorded deliveries (where items are securely stored in the Lodge and the recipient will receive an email notification) Please note that the Lodge cannot accept Supermarket or Take Away food deliveries - you will need to collect these directly yourself

You will find links to all of the College's social media outlets on the main LMH website along with news items, articles and events information.

If any of your contact details change (including mobile phone number and emergency contacts) you must make sure that they are kept up-to-date by making any changes through Student Self-Service.

 

Proof of residence

The Bursary can provide you with a letter confirming your residence at LMH, for example if it is required for a visa or parking permit application. Please contact us at accommodation.manager@lmh.ox.ac.uk. We can also provide you with a counter-signed copy of your accommodation agreement upon request.

 

Landlord references

If you have been living in College accommodation within the last 7 years then we will be happy to provide you with a landlord reference upon request, for example if you are applying for a private rental property. Please give the following contact details to the party who will be making the request:

You should also contact us yourself directly to let us know that you consent to the College sharing the information requested, in line with our Data Protection Policies (which you can view here https://www.lmh.ox.ac.uk/about-lmh/further-information/privacy-and-data-protection). We will endeavour to respond to any reference requests as soon as possible, but please be aware that this is likely to take at least a couple of working days as we will need to gather information from a number of sources to compile your reference.

 

Council Tax exemption

Current students can download an enrolment certificate from Student Self Service which can be used as proof of your student status and council tax exemption https://www.ox.ac.uk/students/selfservice?wssl=1
