Getting around College

Access

All LMH students will be able to collect an access fob from the Porters Lodge – this will allow you into the main college buildings so you can access our facilities, services and staff.

College residents will also be issued a room key.  You must keep your keys and fob with you at all times. Your room should be locked when you are not inside.

If you lose your keys and/or fob and lock yourself out you will be asked to identify yourself in some way in order for us to establish that we are providing access to the correct person/room. There is a charge for a lost key or fob, currently £50.

Do not under any circumstances loan your key or fob to anyone else. Please try to remember your room number.

We are beginning to change building and bedroom access to a different system called SALTO which will use your University Card as an identifier but this is currently only active in 10% of college rooms.

Emergencies

The Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day every day of the week. This should be your first contact in any emergency. If you have called an ambulance – please let the Lodge know immediately so that we can meet it at the gates and escort the first responders to your location. All lodge staff are first aid trained. We also have a small selection of items to deal with minor cuts an bruises.
