Arrival Dates

Undergraduate Freshers and full-year visiting students are usually invited to arrive on the Monday of 0th week of Michaelmas Term, although staggered arrivals may be in place this year. All staff will be on hand to help with your arrival and registration, and you'll be able to book a check-in slot with us. Graduate Freshers can arrive from 1pm on Sunday 26th September 2021, or you can liaise with the Accommodation Manager if you need to arrange an early arrival. Graduate registration will take place during the following week – you will receive more information about booking a time slot for registration from the Deputy Academic Registrar via email.


Foundation Year students are usually invited to arrive on the Sunday of -1st week.


The extended Michaelmas Term for Visiting Students begins on Monday 6th September 2021. Information about arrival dates has been communicated separately. If you have any questions, please email


If you are a Visiting Student starting at LMH in January 2022, information on arrival, registration and induction events will be sent to you in due course. Please do not hesitate to contact the Visiting Student Office ( if you have any queries.


If you need to arrive before these dates, for example due to international flights, orientation programmes or your course start date, then please contact the Accommodation Manager at once you have returned your accommodation agreement to make special arrangements.


Unfortunately we are not able to store student belongings on site prior to your arrival.


All new students (both undergraduate and graduate) will be allocated an individual time-slot for Registration, when you will collect your University Card.  International students will also collect their Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), where relevant, at this brief meeting.  We will need to see the passport (or other relevant identity document) that you uploaded in the ID check question of the pre-registration questionnaire, so please bring this along with you.  In the interests of the health and safety of yourself and others, please ensure that you arrive on time, but not too early, for your designated appointment.



As mentioned above, all new undergraduate students will register and collect their University card (and where relevant, Biometric Residence Permit) during an individual meeting in your first week.  A welcome pack, which will include an schedule for the induction week, will be sent to you electronically.  Tutorials, classes and lectures begin in the following week. There will also be library inductions, a University freshers’ fair, a study skills session, and some social events.
